The College Board - contains lots of important information for high school students! Find information and resources about the SAT, Advanced Placement (AP) classes, thousands of colleges and universities, and college scholarships.

American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) - The definitive source for information you need to know to navigate pre-med through residency. The AAMC accredits medical schools throughout the U.S. and facilitates the application process for most allopathic medical schools. They publish a helpful book called “The Official Guide to Medical School Admissions” that can help guide you along the way. Don’t delay — start researching!

American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine - The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine leads and advocates for the osteopathic medical education community to improve the health of the public. Website includes information on how osteopathic medicine differs from allopathic medicine, and plenty of resources for premedical and medical students.

ChooseDO.org - Explore why becoming a doctor of osteopathic medicine might be right for you, the process of becoming an osteopathic physician, ways to get experience and prepare for osteopathic medical school, inspiring stories from current students, expert advice, and more, to help you choose your path to medicine. You might find options that you didn’t know existed.

Student Doctor Network - Student Doctor Network (SDN) was created in 1999 as a nonprofit service to help build a diverse doctor workforce by providing free advising resources, tools, and peer-support forums to those who would otherwise not have access to such services. SDN is published by CRG, a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization.

Student Basics for Financial Literacy - Free information to help students understand the basics of managing money, credit cards, scholarships, student loans during, and planning for the future.

MiMentor (based in Los Angeles, CA) - MiMentor develops and supports innovative and inclusive mentoring opportunities to inspire the next generation of diverse healthcare leaders for underserved communities.

Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU) - HACU represents more than 500 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, Spain and U.S. School Districts. Website includes scholarship and job opportunity listings.

Latinas in Medicine (based in San Diego, CA) - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes and contributes to the advancement of Latina women in medicine.

MANA de San Diego (based in San Diego, CA) - MANA de San Diego members enjoy personal and professional growth opportunities through events, networks and newsletters. Members connect with like-minded Latinas, to address concerns and challenges unique to the Latino community. Student memberships available for $30.

Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) - The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free summer enrichment program focused on improving access to information and resources for college students interested in the health professions. SHPEP’s goal is to strengthen the academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions and prepare them for a successful application and matriculation to health professions schools. These students include, but are not limited to, individuals who identify as African American/Black, American Indian and Alaska Native and Hispanic/Latino, and who are from communities of socioeconomic and educational disadvantage. SHPEP, formerly known as the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP), expanded in 2016 to include a broader array of health professions.
